Meet Dr. Gilbert
A native of Louisville, I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2003 with dual degrees in psychology and sociology. I went on to earn my Doctor of Psychology degree from Spalding University in 2012, completing an APA-accredited clinical internship at the State University of New York at Buffalo’s Counseling Center. Licensed by the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology and holding an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology from the PsyPact Commission, I’ve practiced in a variety of settings including outpatient community mental health clinics, university counseling centers, and group private practice.
I’ve found addressing both the obvious and subtle impacts of trauma to often be the key to resolving long-standing problems with depression, anxiety, interpersonal concerns, and emotional dysregulation. Many patients come to me when they’ve had unsatisfying experiences with therapy that have left their deeper issues unaddressed. While this work can be challenging, I find it deeply rewarding to help my clients find meaningful relief from their emotional pain.
